Story -
5th grader, Billy, has been having a hard time being at home online doing school. His teacher, Mrs. Evans, has noticed this and contacted his parents to discuss how they could partner and help Billy out.
It was decided that Mrs. Evans, Billy's mom, and Billy would be on a conference call together to discuss possible solutions and have Billy pick one. In the end, the chosen solution was that he could take additional breaks to get up and walk around, and make the time up after school time.
Parents
Story -
8-year-old, Connie, is very social and hates not being able to play with her friends because of the pandemic. Her Dad noticed she hadn't been her normal energetic self and decided to try validating her feelings to get her talking again - "Looks like you are feeling unhappy." Connie strongly said, "Yeah! I hate this stupid pandemic. I want to be able to play with my friends"
Her dad acknowledged that the pandemic had affected a lot and asked her for ideas on how she might be able to connect with her friends and still keep everybody safe. She said they could talk on the phone, do a video call, or even watch a movie, with their parents' help (Connie heard about being able to watch the same movie, at different households, with a special app.). Connie brightened up when her dad said she had come up with some possible solutions and they'd have to figure out with her friends' parents how these ideas could happen.
